Our unique program was started in 1999 and has expanded all over the United States. Tippi Toes® D.C. was opened in 2012 by Claire Portolese. She was able to combine her love of dance with her business background to ensure a fun, enriching environment for children! We take our program to childcare centers, schools, play groups and after- school programs. Currently we are in Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Washington D.C. locations.
Tippi Toes® Dance Company is a mobile recreational dance program for girls and boys ages 18 months to 12 years of age. Our mission is to develop a love of dancing in children by creating a positive experience that promotes healthy living habits, helps build self-confidence and a love for others. We provide a fun, positive and nurturing environment so our dancers can experience the joys of dance and self-expression. Tippi Toes has its very own music that bring our mission to light!

Our classes start with a fun circle time to facilitate connections and hopefully new friendships! Our teachers take the time to connect with the dancers. Then the fun really begins with a warm-up! Teachers keep the class moving and energetic.
Tippi Toes ensures a mix of technique, creativity, and imagination. Our young dancers learn to balance on a rainbow, while our older dancers learn to put their technique into fun choreography. We also make sure each dancer gets one on one time through across-the-floor! Our teachers aim to make sure our dancers understand a move and can ask any questions! Class always ends with a fun activity, whether it is swimming like a fish through the ocean or playing freeze dance.
Dancers will have the opportunity to participate in various performances. Depending upon locations, dancers have the chance to perform in a December recital, End of the School Year Recital and/or a parent watch class! Each class gets to perform 3 dances complete with costumes! Recitals are one of our favorite times of the year. We are so proud of our students and all their hard work.

We offer a wide variety of class depending on age and skill level. For our littlest ones, we have a Toddler and Me class, where you and your little dancer get to explore the basics of dance and movement. We offer various levels of combination classes of ballet, tap and jazz.
And for our oldest (up to 12 years of age) we offer a fun hip hop and jazz combination class that allows them to really explore learning choreography. We are available for play groups, day care centers, pre-schools, and after-school programs.
